If you have assigned clinical roles to certain staff that does not include lab privileges, they should not be displayed as targets for assignment of lab results. Yet in the drop down “assign to” window for lab results, EVEN WITH FAVORITES CHECKED as eCW recommends as a work around, EVERYONE on your database including those with only PM or admin, or billing roles, is visible or can be entered by autofill into the drop down “assign to” box. That means if you have Joe Smith and Jane Smith as users, it would be very easy for a user to mistakenly assign a pathology report to Joe Smith in billing (who will never see it because he doesn’t have a clinical role) instead of Jane Smith. I have reported this to eCW and they treat this as an “enhancement request”. No progress or feedback on this issue now for several months, when I think alarm bells should be going off to get this fixed ASAP.
