I have the manual.  It’s about 1 1/2 inches thick.  Easy to use when I need it.  I’ve only used it to look uphow to do letters, as I forgot after the training.  Otherwise, it’s sat onthe shelf.  eCW sent it to me after we went live with v6.0.

I thought I had it as an e-mail attachment, but can’t find it.  I think it may be at home.  I’ll check and maybe I can upload it here (or maybe eCW can).

Dr. Keenan has put into words what I have been feeling since the
contracts were signed. I emailed an eCW rep in the very beginning
and asked “Can I get the manuals?” and she responded with “What do
you mean?”

I agree that eCW should hire a technical writer(s)  and assign a
programmer or two to the project. It will take more than100 hrs and
should be an ongoing project. This is a large effort but mustbe
done. I manage the technical area at our clinic and I could not read
a document before our installation! I had to purchase a license for
MySQL and read about Apache and Tomcat. I could not get a document
on security requirements for the clients. I did ask for and receive
a document for installing to the PocketPC but I had to re-write it
as it was writtenfor internal eCW use only.

It must be very expensive to have all these people connect with
TightVNC and do all the installations also. Many clinics have
technical staff and we need manuals to assist us. We manage a
network and many other applications. Where would we be if no vendor
gave us documents!

The people are great (we love you Rahul!) and we are also very happy
with our choice but there is just too much to manage and learn
without white papers for the techie and basic manuals for the
medical staff.

Thanks again Dr. Keenan for stating the issue so well.
