Is there a way to change CPT code description that does not alter/affect what billing/insurance sees on their forms?
the CPT codes in the organizer/pick-list are truncated and multiple codes have same stem-descriptions. I’d like to change them to allow easy differentiation. I’m not sure how that would affect a claim processed with that description.

any ideas? thanks

For the past 5 years we have used an interface between Centricity and ECW. We would export the charges into Centricity from ECW and complete our billing within Centricity.

We turned off the interface two weeks ago and plan to use ECW for PM/EMR. Has anyone else had a problem with numerous identical ICD 9 numbers showing up in the list or incorrect codes for a diagnosis? I created a ticket and received a call back today; only to be told we must be creating these codes. How frustrating….I believe each year when the new ICD 9 codes are loaded, it is creating this problem. I would love to know if this is happening to anyone else.

Example of the same code for a different diagnosis : 723.1 chest pain 723.1 pain neck

Hi-

If we add an E&M;code to the progress note, it does not appear in the final, locked note. On the other hand, if we add a procedure code, this winds up in the final note. Is there any way to add the procedure codes in the note so that they transmit to the bill but are hidden from the final note, like the E&M;codes?

Thanks!

Hey,
I always find this forum so much more helpful than ECW support. (I don’t know if that is a good thing or bad thing). Now that we know our third party payers are paying for the new vaccine codes, how do we enter the codes in the system so they show up correctly. For instance Pediatrix shows (90460, with 4 90461s)> I know how to change it for one component, but I not for multiple. For instance if I do multiple sigle component shots I can only get the 90460 to show up one. If I do multiple compnents shots the 90461 do not add up. Help

Jen
What is the official status of the coder? Does eCW consider it an accurate tool or has it been deemed unsalvageable? It has been “under development” for too many years for that to still be the answer.

Does anyone know this?

Not sure when it was changed, but eCW has a very nice new (to me anyway) website. Very well-organized and good-looking.

I know that in the past I have posted rather angrily that they should take the claim of an E & M Coder off the website until they have one that is functioning (accuately).

I didn’t see any reference to the Coder. Did I just miss it? (entirely possible) Or has the E & M Coder been officially declared moribund?

Jen?

I also didn’t see mention of supporting PDAs anymore. We did find them useful and would have liked them to remain a viable option, but since they are no longer an option it’s nice to see them off the website.
