WHAT ARE OTHERS DOING with all the info that gets deleted and doesn’t merge??
Major patient safety issue and eCW refuses to respond with their best practice recommendation on how to get the data into the ‘saved’ chosen chart except to say PRINT THE ENTIRE CHART OF THINGS.
In an upgrade we took last August the document failed to be clear on how detrimental the new ‘acknowledging’ a merge was. It started warning us with a list of all the things that DONT MERGE. (SEE ATTACHMENT) The list is concerning. We had to stop merges knowing their recommendation to ‘print the chart’ wasn’t an option (one tab was 200+ pages and it would be pdf how would all detrimental info go BACK in). And at that, it’s not even all of the items that delete out.
Now with the most recent update last week it updated that list to also include LAB RESULTS and tons of other items that dont merge!
HOW ARE YOU ALL HANDLING THIS?
Can’t get an answer from eCW no matter how many tickets or Sam calls or execs on.
Guess we will get an answer when a lawsuit happens from a critical lab result that deletes and their recommendation is to ‘print’ to PDF the tabs of the med record in HUB (which doesn’t even include all of the deleted listed options) then what, scan them in to doc’s’ somewhere like they recommend and aren’t looked at again- seems like a dangerous game being played.
HELP if have suggestions! We’ve had to stop merging charts unless they have very little (not much or none from the delete list) ATTACHED. which is also dire…
We run our own in-house lab so this results is patients being backed up. Bug ID is PE-150235.
Anyone else run into this? If yes how are you dealing with it?
Ecw if you are reading this please fix this. Our providers don’t need another reason to not like eCW.

Hello All,

I believe I’ve found a bug in the treatment window, I’ve been testing it out, the good news is it doesn’t appear that any data entered is lost, so at least it’s not a patient safety issue, but it will completely shutdown ECW forcing you to log back in.

Steps to replicate bug:

1. Go into Progress Note
2. Open the Treatment Window
3. Click on the Notes Tab (next to clinical notes)
4. Start typing something without clicking in the box

It seems that the cursor isn’t automatically placed into the notes window, and typing without clicking the box to insert the cursor will result in this error. To prevent it, you have to click into the notes box before typing anything.

Event viewer will show error/log:
